12/27 A Few tough hills (One OCR fav routes )
Hello OC Rebels! 🎄🚴♂️ We’re rolling through Lake Forest, Coto, and Mission Viejo this Saturday. Expect a couple of hills to wake up those legs (and burn off some of that post-Christmas overeating 😅)… but nothing like the last two weekends. This one’s a recovery ride — WHOOP-approved 😂 Once we’re past the climbs, it’s smooth roads, good vibes, and perfect winter-in-SoCal riding weather. A great mix of challenge and fun — the ideal way to spend a Saturday on two wheels. Wh

A Very Grinchy Group Ride, Saturday 12/20/2026
Attention Whos of the bike world: The Grinch has escaped Mt. Crumpit and redesigned our Saturday ride. We’ll roll along the coast enjoying cool temps and false confidence, right up until Temple Hills appears and steals our holiday cheer one switchback at a time. This is the queen stage of the day, equal parts climb, character building, and quiet internal negotiations. As always, we tackle it together with plenty of laughs, dramatic breathing, and that moment where everyone s

12/6/25 OCRR Remote Ride - Palomar East Grade from Santa Ysabel
If you’re like me you probably over enjoyed Thanksgiving by eating way too much on top of less than your usual amount of exercise. Now’s your chance to get back on schedule (scale & ride-log wise) and burn off some excess weight while riding to the top of Palomar Mountain. We start the ride on Saturday in Santa Isabel to tackle the 11 mile ascent of the East Grade of Palomar. If you feel the need for extra calories just before the ride they can be had from the Julian Pie Co

11/29 Santiago and others….
To all, Sincerest apologies for the late post! I had a massive, frankly embarrassing, screw-up with the ride organizer spreadsheet. Let's just say "VLOOKUP" and I are currently not speaking. To atone for this organizational sin, I'm posting a ride that is painfully hard (with plenty of hills that can be easily skipped). You will suffer, and I will feel better about my administrative incompetence. It’s the cycling circle of life! Consider this the "Spreadsheet Shame Suffer-fe

11/22 Round Two: Loops Close to Park
To All Fellow Risk-Takers and Weather Skeptics, Let's attempt to ride this bike again! The current weather forecast is a delightful, rain-free paradise for this Saturday. However, my trust in weather forecasters sits comfortably on the same level as my trust in economists . Therefore, in the spirit of guarded optimism and self-preservation, let's stick close to the park. That way, if the sky decides to open up, our retreat won't require a search-and-rescue team. We're aiming
