If you’re like me you probably over enjoyed Thanksgiving by eating way too much on top of less than your usual amount of exercise. Now’s your chance to get back on schedule (scale & ride-log wise) and burn off some excess weight while riding to the top of Palomar Mountain.
We start the ride on Saturday in Santa Isabel to tackle the 11 mile ascent of the East Grade of Palomar. If you feel the need for extra calories just before the ride they can be had from the Julian Pie Company located right at the start.
The ride starts with the crossing of the very rolly Mesa Grande followed by a twisty descent down to Lake Henshaw. After a short jaunt on Hwy 76 the climbing begins and finally ends at the Palomar Mountain General Store.
Clip-in is a 9am in Santa Ysabel. There is a dirt parking lot located behind the Julian Pie Company.
