This Saturday, I’ll be out of town, so I am devastated to miss one of my absolute favorite routes (yeah, right). While I’m off enjoying life, you all will be heading towards the ever-so-lovely Nyes climb. And just when you think the suffering is over, surprise! San Joaquin will be waiting for you after the coffee break—because nothing washes down caffeine like more pain.
For those of you who want to suffer—but, in a slightly less “why do I do this to myself” kind of way—you’ll be tackling the Bluebird climb. This is the route I would have taken if I were in town, and let me tell you, I would’ve made sure the so-called “climbers” regretted every life decision that led them to choose Nyes. I wouldn’t wait. I wouldn’t look back. I’d ride off to the coffee shop and see if the climbers could catch up. And just to add insult to injury, I’d hammer it on San Joaquin—because nothing teaches a lesson quite like getting dropped.
Have fun, suffer well, and remember—at least you’ll have coffee. 🚴♂️🔥☕
