Saturday will take us into South County on a fairly routine 43 mile route. Limited research confirms that this route matches, or at least closely follows, the legendary 1931 Olympic route. Grainy black & white photos of the day show legends such as Giuseppe D'Agostino struggling up the Los Alisos / Melinda climb on their heavy steel-framed single-speed machines. For elite OCRR riders, however, these grades are a mere nuisance.
We will stop at Bodhi Leaf Coffee Traders in Foothill Ranch. As usual, we will depart from Windrow Park at 8:30.
